We’ve been running the SWGX35 across roughly 1500m² to 4000m² property for about six months now, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect form a solid 35cc 4-stroke—reliable pull-start, no mixing oil, and the forced air cooling keeps it from bogging down on hot afternoons.
It handles thick brush and tall grass better than a lot of electric units we tested, but it’s not great for tight borders or delicate flower beds—the 25.5cm width and metal blade will chew through anything, so you’ll want a trimmer line head for edging (the nylon head is 43cm, which helps).
The engine alone is 4.9kg, so with the 1530mm shaft and harness it balances well, but you’ll feel it after a full day; the height-adjustable handle is a nice touch, and alumnum chassis means it won’t rust out if you leave it in damp storage (we usually have stock, but confirm lead time—about 2-3 weeks or so).
Specs-wise: 1.1kw at 3000±200rpm idle, 1100ml fuel tank that lasts roughly 45-60 minutes of heavy, and the pole diameter steps from 26mm to 28mm—that step is a real pain if you’re swapping attachments, but teh anti-stall feature keeps it from dying when you hit a thick patch.
Honestly, most buyers we deal with go with the metal blade for field work and swap to the nylon head for yards; the CE cert is solid, but if you need tighter tolerances on rpm or a specific COA, just ask—we’ve got batch records, but not always on hand.
You need to use 4-cycle oil mixed with gasoline, not a separate oil mix like 2-stroke engines. Just run straight unleaded gasoline with the correct 4-cycle oil added to the fuel tank.
