We've been shippng these YJ series shaded pole motors for kitchen exhaust application for years, and the 2-pole design with direct on-line starting gets you up to speed fast—around 3000-3400 RPM depending on the load and votage. 90% of buyers actually go with the YJ5816 or YJ5812 for smaller fans because the 9W-20W range covers most residential units without over-specifying.
They're single-phase motors 110-240V AC at 50/60Hz so you can pretty much use them anywhere, and the H-class insulation (that's 180°C rated) means they won't cook themselves even in a greasy kitchen enviornment running continuously for hours. Starting torque is decent for fan blades with some resistnce—better than you'd get from a capacitor-start motor at this size, but it's not suited for anything that needs high starting torque like a pump or compressor. Stator's made from silicon steel sheets, which gives tighter magnetic tolerances than cheaper laminations.
Shaft diameter runs from 4mm to 6mm depending on which model you grab—check your fan blade bore size, obviously—and operating position is horizontal only (sometimes people try to mount them vertically and wonder why the bearings wear out faster). We've seen some customers use these in air purifiers and small refrigerator condensers too, so they're pretty for light appliance work.
UL, CE, TUV, and RoHS all checked off on most batches we ship. That said, we usually stock about 500 units or so of teh YJ5820 and YJ5830 models (the higher-watt ones—30W to 50W), but lead time on others might be 2-3 weeks if we're out.
One thing: the 4mm shaft versions can be a little finicky with alignment if your mounting bracket isn't perfectly squared up. 5mm is honestly more forgiving for most assembly lines.

H-class insulation means the motor can handle winding temperatures up to 180°C. In practice, these motors run reliably in ambient temps up to about 60°C, but for very hot environments, let us know so we can double-check.
We pack them in strong corrugated cartons with individual foam inserts to prevent shaft damage. Standard export packaging is 50 units per carton, but we can adjust based on your needs.
