It's on a trolley with wheels, so you can roll it between exam rooms without any heavy lifting, but keep in mind it's not portable for off-site use like some hand-held models are. The Sony Exview HAD camera inside grabs 800,000 pixels at 480 lines horizontal resolution, and with the 18x optical plus 12x digital zoom you're looking at 216x total magnification.

What it does is give you a clear view of cervical tissue from 150 to 550mm away, with a field of view that adjusts form 2.5mm all the way up to 320mm. The multi-point circular LED light source is actually pretty consistent — we've seen fewer glare issues compared to single-point systems.

You get the main unit, power cord, S-video and composite video cables (PAL format), plus a basic manual but no training guide. Most buyers go with teh standard white frame, but our company can customize color and logo if you ask at order time — that adds about 10 working days to dilevery.

Focus can be automatic or manual, and the observation head rotates a full 360 degrees. One thing that catches people off guard is the white balance — it's internal AWB, so in really uneven ambient light you might need to switch to manual mode for accurate color.
