We've been shippng these monitors for about 18 months now, and what it does is give you reliable fetal heart rate and toco readings without tying you to a wall outlet—the Li-ion battery runs for 2 hours or so if you're not printing.
Teh 7-inch screen folds at 90 degrees, which is actually pretty handy for angling it on a crowded cart or between two beds, and the whole thing weighs just 1.75kg so you can grab it and go.
FHR range is 50 to 210 Bpm with a transducer strength under 5mW/cm², and the toco measurement covers 0 to 100 units—it's better than some older clinic units for sensitivity, but it's not built for continuous labor monitoring in a busy L&D suite.
One detail most buyers don't think to ask: printer is optional, so if you don't need paper records, you'll save on weight and battery drain—we usually have stock, but confirm lead time for the twins or FAS options.
Anyway, most people go with the standard FHR/TOCO/FM package for routine checks, and the 1-year everything except accidental damage.
