Heat and pressure cycling wreaks havoc on standard gaskets and seals—they crack, compress-set, or just degrade within months, which is exactly where a silicone foam sheet steps in to maintain consistent compression and insulation over years of service.
What it does is handle those brutal extremes from -60°C to +250°C without losing its flexibility, and closed-cell structure means it won't absorb oil or moisture even in hot stamping equipement or automotive engine bays (better than open-cell foams for oily environments).
Density runs 0.25 to 0.85 g/cm³ depending on your compression needs, and we typically stock Shore hardness from 8A for soft cushioning up to 30A for firmer mechanical seals, but the 0.5mm thickness is tricky to source in widths over 1.2m—lead time usually adds 2-3 weeks there.
Most buyers go with the 15mm thick sheets for heavy-duty sealing because the bubble-free surface quality gives consistent compression across teh whole part, though we've had a few who needed adhesive backing for quick installation and that adds about 5-7 working days.
MOQ is roughly 50 sheets for custom colors or die-, but we can offer better per-unit pricing at 200+ sheets—just be aware that natural and gray are the fastest movers so we usually have stock, while red or white might need a production run of 20 days or so.
Also, it's pretty much non-toxic and odorless, but don't use it for food contact appliction—it's not certified for that despite being REACH compliant and ISO9001 certified, and the 8A Shore is too soft for high-presure hydraulic seals anyway.
Our MOQ for custom colors is 100 sheets or 50 square meters, whichever comes first. Standard colors like gray and black have a lower MOQ of 20 sheets.

Absolutely — we offer die-cutting and can apply a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing. Just send us a CAD or DXF file of your shape, and we'll quote the tooling and per-part cost.
For standard thicknesses like 5mm in gray or black, lead time is 7-10 business days. Custom colors or thicknesses outside 0.5-15mm may add 3-5 days.
Store them flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and ozone sources like motors. Stacking heavy items on top can cause compression set, so keep them in original packaging.
