We’ve got a crew that’s been burning through corded saws on site, and the tether to a generator is getting old, so I grabbed this 21V brushless model—rated votage is 21V and it runs at 50Hz, which is standard for the gear we’re using.
The 10-inch guide plate and 6M/S chain speed mean it’ll handle most limbing and light felling we do, though it’s not really suited for heavy bucking or milling—you’d want a gas saw for that, and the chain speed is about what you’d expect from a decent mid-range cordless.
Chain speed hits 6 meters per second, which is actually pretty good for a brushless motor at this voltage—brushless means less heat buildup and longer run time than the old brushed units, so we’ll see less downtime on small jobs.
Packaing comes as 4 pieces per carton, and the box dimensions are 76 by 29 by 48 centimeters—usually we stock these, but check lead time if you need more than 20 units or so, as OEM/ODM customization is availble if you want your own branding.
It basically runs on a rechargeable battery (battery not included in the kit, by way), so you’ll need to factor that in—most buyers go with a 4Ah pack for good balance of weight and runtime, and we don’t have the exact amp-hour spec from the suplier yet.
