You have to accept it's non-rechargeable, which locks you into disposal after maybe 3-4 years of typical use in a car key fob or small toy—but for lower-drain devices that sit idle most of teh time, the stability is actually better than chasing rechargeable options that self-discharge faster.
Basically what we needed was a consistent 3V rail that doesn't sag under a 0.2mA draw or so, and this CR927 holds that within 0.1V basically through its whole life—checked on two random samples form the batch, and the voltage curve was pretty flat for the first 8-9 months of simulated continuous drain.
The capacity is only 30mAh, which sounds tiny (and honestly, it is), but for a garage door opener that gets used 5-10 times a day, you're looking at 2-3 years before the votage dips below 2.5V where the microcontroller resets—most buyers in our group go with the 50-pack bulk because the per-unit cost drops to about 22 cents, and you're not worrying about shelf life for five years.
Diameter is 9.5mm by 2.7mm high, weight 0.6g, and the mercury content is under 1ppm—so it's RoHS-compliant out of box, no paperwork hassle for passing TDS audits. Operating temperture range -20 to +60°C means it'll survive a car dashboard in summer (usually), but if you're expecting sustained 70°C+ next to an engine block, it's not the right cell—our company have an ML series that handles that better.
We get COAs from the supplier, but they come with a 2-week lag (confirm lead time before ordering for rush jobs), and OEM branding is availble if you meet the 10,000-piece MOQ—we usually have stock at 500-1000 units with card packing, just ask for the bulk variant when you're ordering more than 5,000.
