It tops out at 1860×g, so don’t expect it to pellet DNA or separate fine cellular debris — that RCF is better for serum separation or gentle pelleting of larger particles, and that actually makes it a solid buy for routine clinical or teaching labs where speed isn’t the priority.
The microprocessor control holds speed to ±20rpm, which is tighter than most benchtop units at this price point, and teh LCD lets you toggle between rpm and RCF mid-run without stopping the rotor — we’ve had buyers run it continuously for 8-hour shifts with no drift.
