What we needed was something that came as a single integrated unit, where the plumbing and air lines were already matched, so we weren't guessing at compatiblity. We've been running six of these SD-V2 chairs for about ten months now, and the biggest win has been insallation time by nearly half compared to the last setup we pieced together.
It handles the usual chaos of a busy dental practice pretty well, with standard high-speed and low-speed handpiece connectors that actually fit the common brands without adapters. The three-way syringe, the tray holder, and the headrest come in the box, so you're not placing a second order for parts that should have been included. 10 months in and we haven't had a single issue with the water heating system or the suction — and that's running two surgeries back-to-back most days.
Voltge is listed as 100 to 230V at 50 or 60Hz, and we had ours wired for 220V in about 30 minutes, though the supplied cable could be a bit longer for some setups. Air pressure needs to be between 550 and 800 Kpa, and water pressure at 200 to 400 Kpa, which is pretty standard for most clinics, but check your building's supply if you're on an older system. The unit weighs 175 kilos net, and 215 kilos packed in a crate that's 1300 by 1000 by 760 millimeters — you'll want a dolly and two people to get it into the treatment room. Cushions are PU leather in blue, green, rose, or off-white; we went with off-white and it shows dirt faster, so think about that before you order.
We usually have stock on the basic model — about 15 units or so — but lead time can stretch to 20 days if you add the optional handpieces or scaler, since those come from a different line. Certifications are CE, ISO9001, and ISO13485, but we've never had a customer ask about them; it's more of a checkbox for import compliance. One thing the spec sheet doesn't tell you is that armrests are a bit narrow for larger patients, so if your practice sees a lot of bigger people, you might want to test the fit before you commit to a full order.
