We've shipped hundreds of these to clinics and first responder teams — the 200J max is pretty much standard for adult cardiac arrest, but what you don't see on the spec sheet is how the voice prompts actually adjust cadence base on CPR depth feedback, which most buyers don't think to ask about until they've run a drill.
It charges to 150J in under 6 seconds and to full 200J in less than 8 seconds, so you're not waiting around when every second counts — the LED indicators are bright enough to see in direct sunlight (we tested that after a custoemr complained about glare), and the IPX55 rating means it'll survive a splash or rain without issue, though don't submerge it obviously.
The 3.5kg weight makes it easy to grab and go, but the 390×320×210mm dimensoins mean it won't fit in every small cabinet — we usually recommend the optional AED cabinet if wall mounting is your plan, and the IrDA USB adapter is handy for pulling ECG data but honestly most people just use the infrared to transfer the 1500-event storage directly to a laptop.
Adult/child mode switching is manual via a key or button, not automatic pad detection, which is actually better for training scenarios since you control the energy level — the 12V 2800mAh battery holds charge for about 4 years standby (check lead time on replacement packs though, we've had some delays recently).
Most buyers go with the standerd package that includes pads, battery, case, cleaning cloth, and CD software — the optional cabinet is worth it if you're placing it in high-traffic area, but for a single office or small gym the carrying case works fine, and the CE and ISO13485 certifications mean it meets EU medical device standard without extra paperwork headaches.
It's not suited for pediatric use below 8kg or so — the child mode drops to 50J but you still need the right pad placement, and we've had a few customers ask about using it on infants, which we don't recommend unless you're trained for that specific protocol.
