We’ve been shipping this 96-core single-mode into the US and EU for field deployments where you need to span longer distances without signal drop, and the SC connector termination at both ends saves you splicing time in the trench or on the pole. attenuation at 0.22 dB/km @1550nm means you can push a full 2km roll—actually, we usually have stock on the wooden reels at 2km per roll—and still keep your link loss under a dB.

For tensile strength, the 1000N to 10000N range covers direct burial pulls if you use a proper pulling eye, but we don’t recommend hanging this unsupported over 50 meters since the PE sheath isn’t catenary loads like a loose-tube aerial spec. The armor here is steel laminate plus alumnum tape, so lateral presure >1000 N/100mm, which is better than most loose-tube cables, but if you’re running it through rocky ground you’ll still want a conduit for the bottom 20 meters or so.

Minimum bending radius is 12.5 times the cable diameter static, which typically works out to about 150mm or so for this outer diameter—basically you can coil it tight on a wooden reel but don’t kink it when feeding into a cabinet. Operating temp form -40°C to +70°C covers most outdoor conditions in the EU and UK, and we’ve seen it hold up for a few years in a direct-burial test site near Manchester.
Compliance is straightforward: this carries CE, RoHS, ISO9001, and CCC, so import into the US or UK just needs an importer-of-record declaration with the IEC 60794 spec referenced on the packing list—we’ll include the COA by HPLC for the manufacturing batch (usually 2-4 weeks lead time). The steel-and-aluminum armor keeps the magnetic stripping simple for customs, but check with your freight forwarder on the wooden reel ISPM-15 certifcation if shipping to some states.

Anyway, one detail most buyers overlook is that these SC connectors have a narrower ferrule tolerance (0.5dB insertion loss typical) than generic SC patch cords, and we see better back-to-back stability when you mate them multiple times—especially for 96-core arrays in a fiber distribution hub. Not suited for indoor plenum runs though due to the PE jacket fire rating, so you’ll need an OFNP-rated breakout for that.
We typically require a minimum order of 2 km per roll, so one roll is the baseline. For custom orders, we can discuss smaller quantities, but pricing adjusts accordingly.
This cable comes with RoHS, CE, ISO9001, and CCC certifications. We can provide copies of the certs upon request with your order.
Standard lead time is around 15-20 working days after order confirmation, depending on the quantity. Custom connector termination might add a few extra days.
We ship on wooden reels with a standard 2 km per roll, but we can cut shorter lengths if needed. Just let us know the exact length you require.
The steel and aluminum tape armor gives high crush resistance—over 1000 N per 100 mm—and protects against rodents and moisture. It's built for direct burial or harsh environments.
