The shelf life is pretty impressive, 7 to 10 years if stored right, which matters when you're buying bulk and don't want them degrading in the warehouse. You'll get 20 to 40 minutes of continuous discharge, depending on the draw, so these are strictly for low-drain use: calculators, thermostats, that sort of thing.
That flat terminal to flat terminal design makes contact with most AAA slots without issue, but check your device compartments first if they're tight, because the diameter is 10.5mm and we've seen certain remotes where a slightly thicker battery just won't fit. These operate from -10°C to +50°C, so they're fine for outdoor remotes or toys left in a car, though storage at -20°C to +35°C is recommended for keeping that shelf life.
Actually, they're not rechargeable, so don't try to pop them into a NiMH charger — that will just be a mess. What they are is a cheap workhorse for single-use application like clocks, flashlights, and basic toys, and we've seen buyers put them in promotional giveaways with great results.
