Basically a synthetic vasopressin analog that needs enzymatic conversion to become active, so it's not something you'd use in a direct binding assay without accounting for that lag.

Researchers typically run it in hepatorenal syndrome models or vasoconstrictor studies, though we've had a few buyers try it in portal hypertension work with mixed results. It's better than lysine-vasopressin for reducing visceral blood flow, at least according to what we hear back form repeat customers. Don't expect it to work in simple cell-free systems—it requires biological activation.
