We’ve been shippng these drill sleeves for years, and the gold plating is the first thing most buyers comment on—it’s not just for looks, it actually reduces friction during repeated sterilization cycles in an autoclave.
Basically, the 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm diameters cover the most common orthopedic pin sizes, and we usually stock all three, but the 3.0mm is the one that moves fastest in bulk orders.
What it does is it locks into the bone cortex precisely, so surgeons don’t get that annoying bit of drift when starting a pilot hole, and it’s reusable for dozens of cases as long as you follow the cleaning protocol.
Lead time on a standdard order of 50 units or so is roughly 20 working days, give or take, but if you need a custom engraving or a specific diameter we don’t list, that adds 1-2 weeks (usually 10-15 days).
One thing buyers don’t always think to ask is that the sterile packging is double-bagged, which is required for most OR protocols, and our company can toss in a COA and a few extra pouches at no extra cost.
We’ve had a few customers try to use this for dental implants, and honestly it’s not great for that—the tip geometry is designed for larger bone surfaces, so stick with orthopedic applications.
