The head is a solid stainles steel unit, about 0.8kg total weight at 250mm long, so it's got some heft but won't drag your pouch down too much. You'll notice the adjustable blades are replaceable with that hex wrench included in teh case — it's a simple clockwise rotation to get it moving along the jacket, and what it does is just follow the cable as you turn, peeling the outer layer off cleanly without hacking at it manually. The blades aren't meant for armor or steel-belted cables though, that's the one limit.
Now the plastic case keeps things organized and protects the blades when you toss it in the truck bed — a small thing but buyers with multiple kits usually appreciate it. We've got a few users who actually prefer the 5L drum version of the spare blade set over the single-packs, basically fewer stops to restock.
Tight tolerances on the blade gap adjustments, typically within a couple hundredths, but confirm your cable OD isn't dented or oval before you start — it'll track better than most units in that price range, but it's not magic.
Anyway, lead time on these is about 20 days or so, and we usually have stock until mid-quarter when the larger service contractor orders hit — just let us know if you need an MOQ break or want to check which blade card comes in the case (there's maybe a slight variation between early runs).
