A maintenance manager I dealt with last month was replacing bearings on a production line every six weeks, and what finally fixed it was switching to these washers — the spring tension holds the assembly tight even under constant vibration, so teh bearings last longer between rebuilds.
We run HPLC to verify the materail composition, and carbon steel versions come in with a tensile strength of roughly 1200 MPa or so, while the stainlss steel ones are typically around 800 MPa but handle moisture better, and all dimnesions are checked against DIN 42013 tolerances using a micrometer (usually within 0.05mm).
They're fine for small motor ball bearings and general machinery, but don't use them in high-tempearture environments above 200°C unless you've got the Dacromet coating, because the plain black oxide finish will break down pretty quickly there, and the zinc plating is better suited for indoor application anyway.
The zinc plated ones have a slight yellow tint from the passivation step — most buyers go with those for cost reasons, but the hot dip galvanized is thicker if you need outdoor corrosion protection.
