We've been dealing with a real bottleneck in our spraying schedule—coverage per pass was just too narrow for the 800-hectare block we're running, and the old unit was taking forever to fold for headland turns, which basically killed our hourly throughput.
What this 24-meter boom does is fix the time problem on both ends; the hydraulic folding system drops it from 24m to just over 2.3m in maybe 20 seconds or so, and the self-balancing suspension means we don't have to baby it over uneven ground—the trifilar damping setup actually keeps the boom level when you'd expect it to bounce.
Tank's 1200 liters, which is a solid match for the 24m swath—you're not constantly refilling, and the Venturi stirring system keeps the mix consistent even if you stop for a minute (usually 2-4 weeks lead time on this model, but check stock). Working pressrue runs 0.2-0.5 MPa, and the anti-drip nozzles cut waste pretty dramatically compared to the old standard.
One thing that surprised me is multi-stage filtration—it's not just a single screen, there's actually a coarse then fine stage before the boom, so nozzle clogging has been rare even with wettable powders, which is better than reagent grade filtration for this applicaion. The galvanized steel construction feels solid, though it adds weight at 1160 kg—you'll need a tractor in the 75-132 kW range, no way around that.
For supply, we usually have stock but confirm lead time—teh structural warranty is one year, but most buyers go with the 24m model because the 18m just doesn't justify the tractor investment for the same power requirement. It's not suited for small orchards or tight row spacing, obviously, but for wide-area row crops it's a solid fit.
You'll need a tractor with at least 75 kW (about 100 HP) at the PTO. It works up to 132.3 kW, so most mid-to-large tractors should handle it fine.
