  • Material : 304/201 Stainless Steel
  • Connection Type : Threaded (BSPT/NPT)
  • Size Range : 1/8" to 6"
  • Pressure Rating : 150LBS
  • Temperature Range : -20°C to 200°C
  • Surface Finish : Smooth Cast
  • Thread Standard : BSPT/NPT
  • Manufacturing Process : Investment Casting
  • Corrosion Resistance : Excellent
  • Application : Water/Oil/Gas Pipelines

We needed a quick way to step down pipe sizes on a 150LBS water line without welding, and these threaded reducing sockets fit the bill—the investment casting gives them a smooth internal bore that doesn't restrict flow as much as some cheaper alternatives we've tried.

Sizes run form 1/8" up to 6", but most of our runs use the 1/2" to 3/4" range, and the dual BSPT/NPT threading means we don't have to stock separate fittings for different thread standdard on the same job.

Temperature tolerance is -20°C to 200°C, which covers our chilled water loops and low-pressrue steam lines, though for anything above that you'll want a higher pressure rating—150LBS is fine for medium-duty but not for high-pressure hydraulic systems.

We're ordering the 304 grade for the main line since it have better corrosion resistance than 201, especially where the oil and gas pipelines meet water treatment skid, and teh suface finish is smooth cast so no sharp edges to worry about during installation.

Lead time is about 2-3 weeks from the supplier, and we usually have stock on the common sizes (1/2", 3/4", 1"), but confirm the 6" size since that's a special order—MOQ is 50 units or so on the larger diameters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 304 and 201 stainless steel options for this reducing socket?

304 offers better corrosion resistance and is ideal for water, oil, and gas pipelines, while 201 is more cost-effective but slightly less rust-resistant. For high-pressure or harsh environments, we'd recommend 304.

Do you provide any material certificates or quality documentation with this fitting?

Yes, we can supply mill test certificates for the stainless steel material upon request, as well as pressure test reports for the finished fittings. Just let us know what you need when ordering.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for this reducing socket fitting?

Our standard MOQ is 100 pieces per size, but we can negotiate lower quantities for first-time orders or samples. Just reach out to us with your specific requirements.

Can you customize the thread type to NPT instead of BSPT for this fitting?

Absolutely, we offer both BSPT and NPT thread options. Just specify which standard you need when placing the order, and we'll make sure the threads match your system.

What is the typical lead time for this reducing socket in bulk orders?

For standard sizes and quantities, lead time is usually 15-20 days after order confirmation. Custom sizes or large orders may take 25-30 days. We'll confirm the exact timeline when you place the order.
