The frame's high-quailty carbon steel, which is basically the standard for this size, and the whole thing weighs about 7kg net so it's pretty manageable for a 3-year-old to handle. Seat height is adjustable, you can roughly get it to fit kids from 3 up to maybe 8 years old, give or take a bit depending on leg length.
It's got a little basket on back that's handy for stuffed animals or snacks, though honestly it won't hold much more than a small water bottle and a toy or two. The 12-inch wheels are better suited for paved paths or flat grass than rough terrain—it's a training bike, not a mountain bike, and you'll notice the stability comes from the wide wheelbase rather than any suspension. One thing we've noticed from handling these is the paint holds up okay to light scratches but don't expect it to look new after a summer of heavy use.
