We had a guy last week who runs a mobile repair service, mostly fixing farm equipment and trailers on-site, and he picked up three units after testing one against a bigger brand's model — he said the portability at 6.1kg or so made it worth it for the truck alone, and the air cooling keeps it from out during a long afternoon of welding.
It works on 220V or 110V single-phase, which basically covers most shop and field setups, and teh output current range goes from 50A up to 160A with a no-load votage of 68V — that's enough for most light-to-medium jobs, but don't expect to run 4mm electrodes through it (the MMA electrode limit is 3.2mm max). The rated duty cycle sits at 60%, which is fine for intermittent work but you'll want to let it rest if you're pushing it at the top end for a while.
efficiency is around 85% from the inverter, and the insulation class is F with an IP21 rating — it's not sealed against heavy dust or water, so keep it out of the rain, obviously. Most buyers go with the flux core wire for outdoor work since you don't need shielding gas, but you can run solid wire at 0.8mm with CO2 if you prefer, though the weight per roll is just 1kg so you'll be swapping spools more often than with a 5kg setup. Anyway, what it does well is the lift-TIG for thin sheet metal, but it's not really suited for heavy strucutral welding day after day — that's just the reality of a 160A machine.
Lead time is roughly 20 days or so for a hundred units, and bulk pricing kicks in around fifty pieces — we usually have stock, but confirm lead time for larger orders. The dimnesions are 390 by 155 by 290mm, and the weight varies form about 6.1kg to 7.5kg depending on whether you get the standard or a slightly tweaked version with a different handle.
