It basically takes the place of three or four separate tools when you're out on a fence line, crimping, stripping, and even punching holes without switching hands — which is actually why most guys I know grab a pair and don't bother with the individual tools anymore.
High carbon steel on the head, box joint for the pivot, and the arched shaft gives you a mechanicla advantage that's noticeably better than straight-handle pliers, especially when you're tensioning wire in tight spots.
GS certifcation is the main reason we went with this supplier, since we usually have stock but you'll want to confirm lead time if you need a retest on a specific batch — they run HPLC on every production run, roughly 50 units or so per lot, and they'll hold a sample for 3 months.
The PVC handle is comfortable enough for a full day of garden maintenance, and the pearl-nickel finish holds up better than polish in my experience, though it's not really suited for heavy demolition work where you'd want a full steel handle.
