The 2025 Dali International Medical Equipment Expo and South-Southeast Asia International Healthcare Industry Cooperation Promotion Conference officially commenced in Midu County, Yunnan Province, marking a significant milestone for regional medical industry collaboration.

This three-day international event attracted 117 domestic and foreign medical equipment manufacturers, showcasing advanced diagnostic instruments, blood purification systems, emergency monitoring devices, and other cutting-edge healthcare technologies. The expo serves as a strategic platform for global medical enterprises to explore emerging markets in South and Southeast Asia.

Midu County, recognized as China's Folk Culture and Art Hub, has been transforming into a biomedical manufacturing center through strategic industrial park development. The county's specialized health industrial zone currently hosts 136 enterprises, including 23 dedicated to medical device production, establishing itself as an emerging hub for digital health innovation.

The opening ceremony witnessed the signing of nine strategic cooperation agreements covering product development, intelligent manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce, and digital trade. Notable projects include the Cambodia International Chamber of Commerce's cross-border e-commerce platform initiative, demonstrating growing international interest in China's medical technology exports.

Exhibition highlights feature revolutionary advancements across multiple medical sectors: precision diagnostic reagents, minimally invasive surgical equipment, innovative biomaterials, smart healthcare solutions, and rehabilitation technologies. International participants from Laos, Cambodia and other ASEAN nations actively engaged in business matchmaking sessions.

Industry representatives emphasized the expo's dual value in enhancing domestic brand recognition while creating export channels to neighboring markets. "This event provides unparalleled access to Southeast Asia's growing healthcare sector," noted a participating manufacturer specializing in medical imaging systems.

Regional development officials highlighted Midu's strategic position in China's medical equipment supply chain, with the industrial park serving as a springboard for domestic brands expanding globally. The conference program includes specialized forums on regulatory harmonization, technology transfer, and cross-border investment in healthcare infrastructure.

Academic symposiums running parallel to the exhibition address critical healthcare challenges facing developing economies, featuring presentations on tropical disease diagnostics, affordable medical solutions, and digital health applications for rural communities.

The convergence of international buyers and Chinese manufacturers at this year's expo reflects shifting global supply chain dynamics, with South and Southeast Asia emerging as priority markets for mid-range medical equipment. Market analysts project sustained growth in regional healthcare spending, particularly in diagnostic imaging and chronic disease management systems.

With its focus on practical business outcomes, the Dali expo establishes a recurring platform for technology exchange and commercial partnerships, positioning Yunnan Province as China's gateway for medical technology exports to ASEAN markets. Future editions are expected to expand participation from African and Middle Eastern healthcare providers seeking cost-effective medical solutions.
