We're replacing the aging chairs in ops 3 and 4 with these DT638A knee-break units, and I went with the LED sensor light version because the halogen runs too hot for longer procedures. Basically, the key specs that matter are the 12 memory positions for the chair, DC24V motor voltge, and it runs on either 110V or 220V depending on your setup—just confirm which when ordering.
Ortho and general dentistry teams both liked it during the demo, and teh PU leather cushion is easier to clean than the cloth options they tested elsewhere. The spittoon is rotatable ceramic or glass, and you get two 600ml water bottles, which should cover most of a day without refilling, but check your water presure requirement of 0.2MPa to 0.4MPa—some clinics we deal with had to add a booster.
The metal frame feels solid, and the quiet lift uses Denmark motors, so you're not getting that grinding noise we had with the old units. Touchscreen control (which some of our older staff actually prefer to physical buttons) integrates with a 5-slot tool holder, and the handpiece connections can be 2 or 4 hole—honestly, most buyers go with the 4-hole setup for versatility.
They're shipped from China (usual MOQ is one unit, but lead time is about 20 days or so if they're in stock), with a 1-year warranty and ISO/CE cerification so compliance isn't an issue. The thermostatic water heating for the cup filler and three-way syringe is a nice detail, and they use Italian solenoid valves for the spittoon flushing—better than cheaper valves we've seen fail on other brands.
One thing: it's not suited for mobile or small-footprint clinics because the dimensoins are 150cm x 110cm x 125cm, which is pretty bulky compared to a portable unit. Anyway, we've already got two in use at a sister practice and no complaints so far, so I'm ordering three for our main ops.
