Two military trucks in Australia collided while carrying out storm disaster relief missions in the eastern region on the 8th, leaving 36 people injured. The injured have been sent to hospitals for treatment.

New South Wales police said in a statement that the crash occurred southwest of Lismore, and the casualties were members of the Australian Defence Force. After the incident, the police dispatched a professional rescue team to the scene, and the state emergency department deployed two helicopters to participate in the rescue along with a medical team.

A spokesman for the New South Wales emergency department said that 36 people were injured, and some of the casualties were sent to four different hospitals respectively. He had no authority to release the detailed conditions of the injured soldiers.

Photos from the scene showed a large military truck overturned on the road, surrounded by rescue workers and military personnel.

The Australian Prime Minister and the Defence Minister issued a joint statement confirming that some soldiers were seriously injured.

Affected by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the eastern coastal areas of Australia have been hit by heavy rain and strong winds. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said that the military was carrying out post - disaster work in Lismore.
