Peskov's Statements on Ukraine's EU Bid, Talks and Putin-Trump Meeting

According to news, on February 18 local time, the Russian President's Press Secretary Peskov stated that Russia does not oppose Ukraine's accession to the EU. This is a matter of the economic integration process, and Russia will not dictate to any country on this issue. However, Russia's stance is completely different when it comes to issues related to security, defense, or military alliances.

Peskov also said that President Putin himself has repeatedly stated that he is willing to hold talks with Zelensky if necessary. At the same time, considering the fact that Zelensky's legitimacy may be questioned, it is necessary to seriously discuss how the agreements that may be reached in the talks can be legally confirmed.

In addition, Peskov also said on the same day that there is currently no plan for a meeting between Putin and Trump. Based on the situation of the meetings between the Russian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia, a meeting might take place.
