Drone and Helicopter Collide at South Korea's Yangju Air Base, Causing Fire

South Korea's military said on the 17th that a drone and a helicopter collided at the Yangju Air Base in Gyeonggi Province and sparked a fire on the same day. There are currently no reports of casualties.

According to reports, at around 13:00 local time (12:00 Beijing time) on the 17th, an army aviation unit in Gyeonggi Province received a report that a drone crashed into a helicopter parked at the Yangju Air Base in Gyeonggi Province while landing, causing a fire. The fire department took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. Although the accident did not cause any casualties, both aircraft were destroyed.

It is reported that the helicopter involved in the accident was parked at the airport on standby that day and was not on a mission. The military confirmed that the accident was not a terrorist attack or an enemy attack. Relevant departments are investigating the cause of the accident and the exact loss situation.
